My wife thought I was wasting money when I first bought a cast iron skillet, but now she uses it all the time. She took over the last pan so I bought this smaller one for my omelets. This preseasoned pan works great. But don't expect perfect non-stick results on day one; it needs some time to break in. You will need to use cooking spray and the more use it gets, the slicker the surface becomes. Don't use soap to clean. Just use warm or hot water and squirt a little cooking spray on it before you put it away. Cast iron will last a lifetime and go ahead and use those metal utensils if you wish.Customer Review: Durable Skillet

I was hesitant to buy a cast iron skillet because of previous experiences with poor seasoning - but this one is fantastic. This is now my favorite frying pan and it is very easy to clean. Love it
