Customer Review: Worth the Price

Yes, as someone else pointed out, it is more expensive than other Aebleskiver pans on the market. But, in this case, you get what you pay for. This is a HEAVY pan. The density of the cast iron holds heat very well and the design distributes it evenly. My very first attempt resulted in surprisingly good results. I would say any problem with that first attempt would be attributed to my lack of experience and not with the pan. I'm still trying to find that perfect recipe. One tip that I've learned is this. Many say to use skewers to flip the cakes. I had messy results trying this. Instead, I found that a fork works best. Use two forks to roll the cake over.
Description of Lodge Pro-Logic Cast-Iron Aebleskiver Pan
This seasoned and ready to use Danish Cake pan is also called an "Aebleskiver, which means "Sliced Apples" in Danish, is excellent for making Danish "pancake balls". Considered a specialty bakeware item, the little round cups are filled with dough and as it starts cooking, the chef uses a little wooden stick to "flip" it into a little ball which can then be filled with fruit, such as sliced apples. It has a 9" diameter and is 16 5/8" long. The impressions are 3 1/4" in diameter and 1" deep.All Pans
